Approximately 130,000 children under 10 in northern Gaza have been cut off from essential supplies for 50 days, according to Save the Children. Declared a closed military zone on October 6, the area has remained inaccessible to aid workers. The Famine Review Committee has warned of imminent or ongoing famine, while the UN flagged risks of widespread fatalities.
Save the Children reported blocked deliveries of aid, including food parcels for 5,000 families and 725 hygiene kits, which were redirected to southern Gaza. Medical services have also been affected, with Kamal Adwan Hospital under attack and critical shortages reported. Around 10,000 children missed polio vaccinations, though 113,000—88% of the target—received doses.
Save the Children, active in Gaza since 1953, continues to provide humanitarian aid, such as food, cash, hygiene supplies, and psychosocial support, where possible.
